The Doctors

Aracely I. Ferrer, MD, FAAP

Dr. Ferrer, founder of Caring for Kids Pediatrics, is a graduate of Texas A & M College of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Residency at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Ferrer is Board Certified in Pediatrics. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is fluent in Spanish.

David M. Castro, MD, FAAP

Dr. Castro, founder of Caring for Kids Pediatrics, is a graduate of: Central Catholic High School (San Antonio), The University of Texas at Austin, The University of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio, and The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his Pediatric Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Castro is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and speaks Spanish.

Maria Fernandez-Falcon, MD, FAAP

Dr. Maria Fernandez-Falcon graduated from Universidad del Salvador, Argentina in 1994. After finishing her residency in General Pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Internal Medicine, she worked as a pediatrician in Argentina for 5 years before coming to the United States. She completed her residency at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX in 2007. Dr. Fernandez-Falcon is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a pediatrician, she loves being part of her patients' growth and development, supporting them during disease, and being always an educator. She and her husband Cristian have two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and cats, and is fluent in Spanish.

Darryl C. Longee, MD

Darryl C. Longee is a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Longee is a former Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, and Medical Director at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He was also Director of Clinical Neuro-Oncology at Duke University Medical Center, and served on the Admitting Staff - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale University Medical Center. Dr. Longee joined Caring For Kids Pediatrics after practicing primary care pediatrics in San Antonio for three years. He is also a veteran, having served in the US Air Force.
Darryl C. Longee, M.D.

Laurel Franck, MD

Dr. Laurel Franck was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. She graduated from Texas A&M University - College Station and went on to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Franck completed her pediatric residency at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center program and is Board Certified in Pediatrics. She is excited to be back in Texas and at Caring For Kids. Dr. Franck enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends.

Margaret Duvic, DO

Originally from South Louisiana, Dr. Margaret Duvic attended the University of New Orleans for her undergraduate education. She obtained her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2008. Dr. Duvic completed her pediatric residency in 2011 from the University of South Alabama. She has been practicing pediatrics in the San Antonio area for the past 2 years and is pleased to be joining Caring For Kids Pediatrics.
